Killernovels is a privately owned venture. We're not highly-paid professionals, or world famous writers, but simply those who enjoy writing quality novels, and would like to share them with the world.
Humble Beginnings
Killernovels was founded (and is currently run) from the city of Bundaberg in the sunny state of Queensland, in that wonderful land down under, Australia. Bundy is rated as one of those places most desirable to live in the world due to its mild climate and excellent lifestyle. All round, Bundy is very hard to beat, with lovely beaches, some farming and a laid-back city.
Killernovels itself does not seek to 'rule the world' of fiction. However, we figure that if we can present to you the very best novels possible, you will be happy and will return for more. Getting published is difficult, and the Internet makes it possible for genuinely gifted writers to get a legitimate start. Killernovels is small, but is devoted to only offering original, unpublished and top-quality reading material. We are sincere in that, and hope that you find our work to be of that high standard.
Our Sales Philosophy
As a priority, our endeavour is to offer only quality novels to you, our valued reader. That's not sales-pitch; we genuinely pride ourselves in trying to offer the best.
Sure, we charge for novel conclusions, but that is merely a means of paying for the service we provide. At the end of the day, if our writers love to write, and can offer their readers a quality product at an affordable price, we figure you won't mind paying for a service which is well worth supporting.
We also figure that by offering around 90% of every novel free, that's a pretty good deal from the reader's perspective. Let's face it - if you read 90% of a book, you should know by then whether of not you like the writer's style and the plot before the last couple of chapters. Maybe paying full price for the conclusion seems a little pricey, but at least this way no one gets fleeced - you know you want it before you buy it! We try to give the reader more than a fair chance to decide whether a novel is to their taste. Besides, whoever heard of a car manufacturer offering to let you drive a car for 90% of its life, only paying for the last little bit? We think we're offering a pretty fair deal.
Sex, Violence and Language
Have you noticed how hard it is to find a movie these days where they keep the bad language to a minimum? Or, if you're watching it with your family, do the sex scenes make you feel a little uneasy? Our philosophy with regard to sex, language and violence is to endeavour not to give too many shocks. Sure, some of our novels may contain graphic violence, but this fact is never kept secret. Just read our novel summaries, synopses and select passages, and you should get a pretty clear picture of what you are in for.
In short, we try to match the quality and content of any novel with the quality, prime-time movies or weekly television shows you might already enjoy. Hence, while sex may be inferred or even mentioned, our writers agree not to include graphic sex scenes in novels. Similarly, foul language is avoided, as we believe that quality reading need not include obscene profanities. When it comes to violence, we admit that many stories include graphic images. However, this is not done without warning (novel summaries, synopses and select passages), and we try not to let it become too impactful.
Our Writers
Anonymity is something we believe our writers should be able to maintain if they so desire. If you would like to address any of our writers, you may do so by using the Contact Us / Place an Order page on our website, and any comments will be forwarded on to the relevant person/s.
If any gifted writer is wondering whether we will offer to publish your work, the answer is a definite maybe... possibly... could be... Killernovels is devoted to publishing previously unpublished work, and we take considerable care to ensure that our reputation as a high-quality source of original novels be maintained. Thus, we make no secret of strenuous quality and anti-plagiarism policies.
So far we don't do short stories, as this doesn't fit in with our 90% free policy. However, time will tell whether we change our minds on that one...
